Two repaired artworks sparked a new Metchosin exhibition

Yvette Street and Kimberley Zutz share the arts centre's October and November POV exhibition, on view through November 29.

Two broken artworks became the starting point for Yvette Street's latest series. After the older pieces were repaired, their visible seams suggested a new direction.

According to the Metchosin Arts & Cultural Centre's exhibition description, Street works with metallic and acrylic layers. Gold and silver traces appear through the surfaces, carrying the idea of repair into the new work.

Street shares the centre's October and November POV exhibition with Kimberley Zutz. Zutz's paintings range from detailed animal portraits to landscapes and abstract work, drawing on the natural world.

The pairing gives visitors two approaches to look at: Street's interest in fracture and renewal, and Zutz's movement between close observation and abstraction.

The exhibition runs from October 1 through November 29, 2026, at the Metchosin Arts & Cultural Centre, 4495 Happy Valley Road. The centre's page lists office hours, but does not give a full exhibition viewing schedule. Contact info@metchosinartcentre.ca to check viewing times before heading over.
