Food takes over Metchosin ArtPod's next exhibition, opening Friday, October 23, 2026, with a public gala the following afternoon.
Food: Ritual and Identity explores how food connects with identity and culture, from harvest and feasting to hunger and waste. The exhibition runs through December 20 at 4495 Happy Valley Road.
The opening gala is Saturday, October 24, from 2pm to 4pm. Regular gallery hours are Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 11am to 4pm. ArtPod says donations collected throughout the show will go to Goldstream Foodbank, which serves the Westshore, including Metchosin.
Sunday is also the last regular market of the season
For a Sunday visit, the nearby Metchosin Farmers' Market lists its regular season as Mother's Day through the last Sunday in October. This year's final regular Sunday is October 25, with hours of 11am to 2pm.
The market is on the municipal grounds at 4450 Happy Valley Road, a different address from ArtPod. Its locally made and grown offerings include produce, meat, baking, preserves and crafts.
A Sunday stop can fit both: the market closes at 2pm, while ArtPod's posted gallery hours continue until 4pm. Check the linked organizers' pages before leaving for any schedule changes.
